Zach Edey - Purdue

Profile

Zach Edey is the reigning back-to-back National Player of the Year award winner and has certain tools that could absolutely help teams. He is massive with some claiming that he is actually taller than 7’4”. Edey is nearly unstoppable in the post, but does not have a very wide variety of post moves. The touch is impressive but will more than likely be affected more by NBA level defenders. On defense, I see Edey being a translatable rim defender who could have similar defense numbers as Walker Kessler in his rookie year. Edey does not have good mobility on either side of the court, but has improved his drop coverage from last season. I do not see him as a starting level player in the current NBA, but can be valuable to have in certain matchups.
