Derik Queen is a big man with great touch and impressive feel for the game. He plays incredibly physically and creates easy looks for himself on the interior with good footwork and is able to finish with touch on both hands. His standout skill is his playmaking vision. Queen makes quick reads and is able to spot open teammates with ease. He excels while hitting cutters and throwing skip passes to shooters out of the post with his back to the basket. He lacks elite vertical athleticism but is a solid defender on the interior due to his strength and willingness to fight in order to keep opponents out of position.
