Profile
Ajay Mitchell is a lead guard with good side and an even better attitude. One of the biggest aspects of his game that jumped out to me was his aggression while on offense. Mitchell is not afraid of contact and even seeks it out while driving. Attacking off the dribble gives Mitchell opportunities to create for others, but I believe he will need to continue improving on this if he wants those duties at the next level. In his three years in college, Mitchell has shot over 50% from the field in all of them. He has improved his three-point shooting since he was a freshman and I see this, along with his solid free throw percentage, as promising signs for even more improvement down the road. Defensively he is good when engaged. Mitchell was asked to run the show for UC Santa Barbara so his focus on defense may not have been where it needs to be at all times. This is pretty common for high-level players at mid-majors, but is something to monitor regardless.
