Nikola Topic is considered by many the best guard prospects in this year’s draft. Topic has great size for a lead ball handler. He showcased his ability to run a team while playing with Mega, but suffered a knee injury shortly after being moved to the Euro League with Red Star. In my opinion, Topic is the best draft prospect in terms of navigating pick and rolls. Topic seems to have great basketball instincts and high I.Q. which were on display prior to his injury. His team defense is decent, but getting him in isolation may cause problems for the first few years of his career. All in all, if his medical evaluations are not of high concern, Topic is a low risk prospect who should help many team’s offenses if put in a position to run the offense.
